⬆️ +100 - all good 😊 This actually confirms my weight loss of 700g yesterday, I was hoping it wasn’t a scales error.
I did some more stripping turf and digging, about an hour in the shade of the morning and half an hour in the evening. the matted grass layer is about 10 cm deep, so it’s slow going. There’s really not a lot to show for all that effort, but it will be perfect when I’ve completed the work–A bit like a weigh management/body recomposition project really!
I did back and core exercises yesterday, largely pushups in sets of ten, plus deadlifts 9for the but muscles–the most important muscles in the body after the heart!
Movement of any kind is incredibly important but our glutes and leg muscles are what allows us o move through space really need to cultivate strength in our legs and protect our agility.
I ate 38 calories over my maximum of 1300, I think I worked them off in the garden… I confess - I had 4 squares of rum n raisin old gold dark chocolate and 50 grams of peanut butter as a treat. so my carbs were up and my protein intake was down yesterday. I paid for this by foregoing dinner. I just had 100g of Greek yogurt and 60 g of fresh strawberries.

Gaining 0.7 kg a Week
07 March 2025
⬇️ -700 😳 😳 😳 😳 are you kidding me? I have not only hit my target for the end of the week but exceeded it by 300 g. I am amazed. WTF.
I do hope smarty scales are not having a lend of me !
I did do a lot of physical work yesterday two lots of digging up turf for about half an hour and I have a blister under my ring finger. Not used to digging and chipping in all that stuff.
I also went to the gym but I did a lackadaisical lower body workout a lot of stuff on the leg press which is one of the machine machines that I favour , but really couldn’t bei arsed about the Leg curl etc. Did some Romanian dead lift not very heavy then came home and apart from doing some household tasks I made no further effort yesterday.
Is that all I have to do? To lose 700 grams? Genuinely gobsmacked at these results. According to conventional wisdom the further down you go weight, the harder is to lose weight.
I think what’s happening on reflection , is that my weight gain of over a kilo while my daughter was staying with me a few weeks back and my concerted effort to lose that kilo was a reset for my metabolism? So this is effectively 2.
Now I have to do the research and find out what I need to do to support this phase.
Onward and downward !
(Thanks, Jontyboy)

Losing 4.9 kg a Week

⬇️ -300 g,….. whoopee! Not that I believe my smart scales, they were playing up this morning and telling me silly things so this might be just another silly thing.
We’ll wait and see.
I’m sticking to under 900 cal today. Did not eat until after 2 pm but we have a protein shake now and if I can find some cottage cheese and strawberries later on. Then I’ll just call it a day.
Yesterday was insanely busy and I can’t remember anything about it except that I spent half an hour in the gym working like a maniac and I came back home and picked up My dumbbells and started to work on those because I didn’t have time to do that at the gym . Good thing I have some equipment at home.
I don’t remember what I ate, but it was too much .
My studies are taking up a huge proportion of my time and I have to remember to do the Pomodoro technique and get up from my desk at least every 45 minutes for a break . During the break I make sure that I do some walking outside or some stretches or or a little bit of cardio I think that is going to make a difference.
Certainly last year when I was studying I spent far too much time just sitting at my desk in a awkward position that gave me a bit of a slant of the back and neck and it does not look good and it does not feel good.
Anyway, off to the gym for a regular session today.

⬇️ -100 🐢
Knocked myself out yesterday to lose these grams. I’m relaxing today, keep the body guessing. Tomorrow is fast day, so there should be some results by Friday.
Tactics.
I have been stupidly busy today and I missed my physiotherapy appointment.
i have two more weeks to practice my prescribed exercises. not a ‘bad’ mistake.
My hip has mended itself after an hour of carefully targeted hydrotherapy stretches and exercises. Not so many pedals, only 400. I used the sauna for the second time, followed by a very brief cold shower. Brrr! 🥶
I felt great afterwards. 😊

⬇️ -100 😊
I think I’ll try for under 89 kg by the end of the week.
I did a lot of gardening yesterday, including stripping several metres of turf to start to create a new garden bed out the front. I’m planting a hedge of Rosemary 11 plants that I struck from a plant in my back yard. I only lost 1 plant.
I didn’t remember to measure myself. I will put the tape measure next to my bed tonight.
Raising my calorie allowance to 1300 has opened the gate to some not so good food choices, I’m regularly exceeding the 1300 by 60-70 calories. Not good!!
I think I have some 18:6 fast days to do, get back on track - though I have been enjoying eggs for breakfast.🍳
